When we first started homeschooling, I felt completely overwhelmed. Coming from public school, where my kids would "unwind" after class with TV or iPad time, to being home all day was a major adjustment—for them and for me. They naturally expected to have the same level of screen access, which wasn't sustainable or productive for our new routine. So, we made a big shift: limiting electronics for most of the day.
This change was challenging at first, but it inspired me to find creative, engaging alternatives. I started exploring hobby kits, curating music playlists, and, of course, diving into kids' podcasts. Podcasts became a lifesaver—fun, educational, and the perfect way to keep their minds engaged without relying on screens.
In this post, I’ve put together a list of my top-rated kids' podcasts, complete with descriptions to help you find the ones your family will love. As I discover more, I’ll keep adding to this list!
Since Spotify allows me to create a playlist but only lets me add single episodes instead of linking entire shows, I’ve pulled together a sampler playlist. It’s the easiest way to explore all these podcasts in one place. You can check it out here: FULL PODCAST LIST PODCASTS:
